Role Summary:

The Network College Services Manager will be a critical member of the Phoenix team. This role will be key in developing a robust college services program to support students across the Phoenix Network. The Network College Services Manager position is an exciting opportunity for someone who is an innovative self-starter to collaborate with school-based teams to develop college services programming that supports college readiness, college access, and college persistence.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Role Include:

 

Partnerships:

 

  • Creates partnerships with local organizations that could partner with Phoenix around college preparation, persistence and completion.
  • Facilitates school-based teams in developing and maintaining partnerships with local community organizations that could support Phoenix alumni in college.
  • Collaborates with local community colleges to develop dual enrollment partnerships and transition programming for Phoenix scholars.
  • Facilitates school-based teams in developing and maintaining partnerships with local community colleges around dual enrollment partnership and transition programming.
  • Partners with local organizations and school-based teams to place students in enriching summer opportunities.

 

R.A.P.

Manages the three pillars of College services programming at Phoenix: 1) college readiness, 2) college access, and 3) college persistence.

 

College Readiness: 

  • Collaborates with Network ILT, Operations, and College Services Coordinators to develop and implement college readiness programming.

College Access:

  • Collaborates with Network ILT, Operations, and College Services Coordinators, to ensure that new pilots are integrated into college application process and will set students up for success on application (i.e. transcript).
  • Develops strategies to support pathways for undocumented students to afford to college.

 

College Persistence:

  • Tracks and analyzes alumni data/outcomes
  • Collaborates with school-based CSC to host annual alumni events at individual Phoenix schools.
  • Interviews Phoenix alumni on ongoing basis to learn current challenges with college.

 

Build Phoenix Knowledge base:

  • Conducts ongoing research of best practices for supporting at-risk students in college.
  • Leads network College Services Coordinators collaboration days (content team days).
  • Develops and maintains a list of schools/programs that create affordable pathways for undocumented students.
  • Develops and maintains list of scholarship opportunities for Phoenix scholars.
  • Develops and maintains list of schools that provide supports for 1st generation college students.

Qualifications

  • BA required, with experience working with students in the college services sector
  • Manages time and priorities to accomplish multiple vital tasks in a limited time frame
  • Self-starter who proactively comes up with systems and solutions to make one’s work more effective
